Back in Vietnam - Saigon is a Happy Place
So I'm sitting at an internet cafe in Saigon, and the
lady that runs that place just came by and set down a
cool glass of water. This place is just top to bottom
wonderful. It's especially refreshing having come
here from Cambodia. Whew. It wasn't the mix of
Thailand and Vietnam that I was half-expecting. The
whole country is brown, flat, hot, and full of
landmine victims. I think that sums it up. Oh and
lots and lots of landmines still.
The temples at Angkor were indescribable. They're
just something you need to see for yourself. The
crowds were manageable, and quite honestly not even
noticeable once you're inside.
Though on the other hand for a country recently back
from the hellish days of the Khmer Rouge and their
homie Pol Pot it was quite alright.
But Vietnam. Wow, this place. The people, the food,
the interesting sights to see around EVERY corner.
Just a wonderful place to visit. Misty and I are very
happy that we were able to come back one last time
before leaving Asia.
We're already back on schedule:
Early Morning: Breakfast
8-11AM: Run around until it gets too hot to think
Between 11 and 1: Find cool drinks in a cafe. Head
back to hotel
1-5PM: Shower then nap OR Pool then shower, then Nap
5PM: coffee and pastry at cafe
6-9PM Activities around searching for suitable dining
establishment (this part usually involves deciding
between Vietnamese and Frnch fare).
United flies directly here now...
We'll try to update more later. But we're here safe
and sound and fat and happy.
Chad & Misty
OH YEAH!!! Everyone wish Tiffany my Sis a happy, happy birthday! She claims that it's her 27th... again.
