Countdown to Christmas

Sorry we haven't posted more lately, but Misty and I have both been working full time and then attempting to, in turn, relax full time. The entire city of Yerevan has been blanketed in fog for the past three weeks straight! What that means is that there have been no flights in or out and consequently no mail. At this time of year that most certainly means Christmas presents. We're keeping our fingers crossed that some things will arrive in Tblisi, and someone will drive up to get them. I know I ordered at least a couple of things for Misty, and a couple of things for 'the family' (more on that later). We DID take a road trip yesterday to attempt to escape the fog, but after driving for nearly 20 minutes, we gave up and turned around.

Big news though! Our vehicle arrived and should have plates in a week, and I'll make sure to post some photos of me doing something follish in it. Not only that, but along with it in the same container, the rest of our stuff (read: FOOD). At this point we're just waiting to move into our permenant residence. Thanks the glorious inefficiency of Misty's employers this will be the second time that we've been forced to live in temporary housing for more than two months at a time. Maybe they should learn to call it semi-permenant housing...

Regardless, the end is near, and they expect to move us and all of our things into an American-style house in a post-soviet country. Don't think that that bit of silliness is lost on us. As with most things in life there are plusses and minuses. For instance we can expect to have heat, hot water, AND electricity at all times, unlike many of the local residents who have to shower only during certain times, and still to this day lose electricity periodically!

We found out that our adoption is going to be delayed a bit, and we probably won't travel to China until mid-late summer next year. While that's disappointing, keep your fingers crossed for a two-fer deal. We asked for twins or siblings, and lately there have been quite a few popping up! We've even started working on more name possibilities. Grace might be an instant sister!

I'll try to force my wife to write a little in here as well. I know we've had some requests.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Merry Christmas! Sounds like this will be a Christmas to remember. I feel like I should be making jokes with Foghat in the punchline, but that would be so cliche. I'll just send along season's greetings and tell you guys I really miss you. And just so you know, I'm with you on the dry climate. Lotion's a must-have for me in CO, too.

Love ya!
